Regulations
Insurance - rowers must have their own adequate, third party insurance.
The captain or cox from each team must attend the safety briefing prior to the race start
All rowers must be registered before the start of the race (cut off time will be provided in the race info pack sent to entrees prior to the event
All boats must carry a charged mobile phone
The instructions of the safety marshals must be followed at all times.
Participants are responsible for the launch and recovery of their own boats.
Race numbers, which will be provided, must be clearly displayed. For FISAs and one designs, please enter your boat number with your entry form.
The organisers of the event have the right to change the course routes, cancel or reschedule the event in circumstances beyond their control e.g. weather
In the event that the event is cancelled due to reasons beyond the organisers control (e.g. weather), entry fees will be non-refundable.
Should a crew wish to withdraw from the race, entry fees will be non-refundable.
Crews who wish to withdraw from the race during the race, must inform a safety marshal
Once finished the race, one member of the crew must report back to the registration tent to sign out within 15 minutes of finishing.
Rowers who sign up to the race, agree to be filmed/photographed without payment. These photographs and films can be used to promote the race in future years and can be used on posters, social media outlets and as the organisers see fit.
By signing up to the race, crews/participants recognise that they are entering the race at their own risk and the organisers, partners and sponsors accept no liability for any injury or loss incurred before, during or after the race.
Participants must be fully fit and competent to compete in the race and must accept that they are participating in the race entirely at their own risk
If the safety marshal determines that you are not capable of finishing the race in a reasonable time or are in danger, you must follow their instructions to leave the race.
It is the responsibility of participants to ensure that their boat is in sea-worthy condition. Safety marshals have the right to refuse participation on the day if they deem the boat to be un-seaworthy
By entering personal information, participants give the organisers permission to use this information for promotional and marketing purposes. The information will not be shared with third parties.
Participants must be aged 16 or over on the day of the race (with the exception of the junior challenge). Boats containing a rower under the age of 18, must have a coxswain aged over 18.
Participants MUST provide a copy of their insurance schedule and MUST be insured for the day of the race.
Each crew is responsible for complying with the safety regulations as stated in the Pleasure Craft Regulations 2005, particularly concerning the availability of lifejackets.
